gerber solids with bottle?

My baby is 4 and half months old and I'm thinking of starting her rice or oatmeal cereal in her bottle for the next few weeks or until she gets used to the new taste.. any mamas feeding solids w bottle?

Cereal in a bottle can cause asphyxiation and is very dangerous plus cereal is basically empty calories

Not recommended to add cereal to bottle. Higher risk of choking. If baby can hold head up good in a chair, try to spoon feed the cereal.

Every baby is different. My doctor doesn't recommend cereal before 6 months but at my 4 month appt they told me I could start giving him cereal in his bottle for a bit of extra calories since he's missing a couple feedings at night because he sleeps 10-14 hours. Talk to your pediatrician and see what they think.

We do a small amount of rice in his bottle at bed time to aid in falling asleep at the reccomendation of our pedi and have been doing that for over a month now. You do what you think is right for your little one! Frankie is a very healthy not so little man. If your unsure talk to your doctor and see what they say.

I have I only put a teaspoon of cereal in the bottle like twice a day

No cereal for us. Our pediatrician was against it for safety and health reasons. We started with the first foods from Gerber instead. Our parents and grandparents used rice cereal in our bottles and we turned out fine. Go with your gut mama.
