So I have HPV... what now?

Any ladies here been diagnosed with HPV? My OBGYN called me this morning to let me know that my Pap smear came back abnormal and that I have HPV. They want to do a biopsy. How painful will that be?? I'm freaking out and they can't see me until the 13th. RIGHT during my fertile days. Ugh. So I'm out for July and I have HPV. FREAKING OUT!!! Anyone out there in the same boat and have any words of advice, encouragement, anything?? I have no clue what to tell my husband. He knows because I called him right after the call but he's at work right now so we haven't talked much. I'm so upset.... ladies please help me.

I had that done for HPV and it didn't hurt.  Just felt like a pinching.  I did have some spotting afterwards.

Good news was that my very next Pap smear came back normal and they've all been normal since!

It's not a big deal and the biopsy is basically just the same as a pap smear. It's absolutely nothing to be freaked out about. The only real difference is that the speculum is a bit bigger

I've had an abnormal pap and HPV but never a biopsy because of it. My HPV went away and the next pap was normal. I would ask why a biopsy is needed.

I have/had it.... They did a biopsy and everything came back fine, no medication or anything needed. I had abnormal pap smears for the next 2 years then it suddenly disappeared. That was 7 years ago, hasn't been back since, all my paps have been normal.

So I have HPV... what now?
