pediatrician vs family care doctor

Hi ladies! So my niece has always gone to a doctor here in our town since she was born so I am now due with a baby and I called to get him booked in with her as well. She said "please know, we are a family care doctor, not a pediatrician". What is the difference? Does it matter? Are you guys looking into doctors already? Help! I'm a first time mom and new to all this!
