Strep B Culture?

I have a scheduled Ceserean at 37 weeks.. And my doctor called me back saying im positive for Strep B.
My first pregnancy wasn't like this. I had no worry. But now Im worried because I dont want my baby to have it. I heard it can cause death to mother and baby, sepsis, still birth. Etc... And Im pretty certain that my water wont break 6 days from now.... Any stories or experiences you have had and can share... Please do. Positive or negative.

You will be fine your given a high dose antibiotic just before they start the casection anyhow and this should cover you then you may have to continue antibiotics for few more days afterwards. You will require antibiotics though either way. More risky with vaginal birth and non medicated. You will be absolutely fine honestly. Best wishes

I was positive for first and negative for second and third. U will just need antibiotics.

I haven't been told I have it but I do know they give you antibiotics and baby and you should be just fine. They test you so they know and are prepared to give antibiotics to prevent anything.

I had a negative strep test with my first and positive for second.
It's only cause for concern if you are doing a vaginal birth then they'll give you antibiotics. Being that you are having a c section (like I did) you shouldn't need additional meds either.
