A Mothers Embrace

Is there a better feeling in the world than this?

Your head upon my chest, your body stilled by the comfort of my heart

As I lay here and watch the darkness turn to light

The morning air washing about the room in waves of crisp golden delight

Your warm body stirs and a smile flickers in your face, and

I am reminded that I am small but significant,

Even if only to a small but significant person.

So rest your head my son,

Sleep peacefully while life allows

We know not what today will bring,

But for now I will thank the Universe, the God, and the Fate that brought you to me.
