Would you stay in a relationship for the sake of your child?

Lately I'm not even happy with SO. Our relationship has plummeted and I feel id be better off myself. A big kicker is I'm a SAHM but I just started working so it will take awhile to gain money to care for my son "alone".. I also don't want to "take my son away from him".. I just feel we'd all be happier with some time apart. My son is only 9 months old, and I don't want to keep being unhappy. I know children can sense things I'm just so confused and frustrated. I know relationships have many ups n downs and not sure if I should stick it out longer or make adjustments sooner than later. Any advice?

If you feel unhappy and you have tried everything to fix it, then i would consider leaving too. You can make a happy life for you and your child, while still having the father in your childs life.

If you were happy before you had the baby, i wouldn't jump to any decisions just yet.... you have a 9month old and your family dynamic has changed quite a bit in the last year. I would try to work on things and maybe consider counseling to adjust. If you haven't had any date nights since having the baby, make yourselves a priority. Many relationships start to suffer when there's a baby because things change so much.  Give it a chance.

If the kid was older I would tell you to leave.
But the first year of having a baby brings so much change, hormones, sleep deprivation, that the couple needs time to reconnect.
I don't think it's the right time to make such a decision.

If you're unhappy in your relationship, it shows. Kids notice. I spent my childhood wishing my parents would get divorced so all the yelling and fighting would stop, but they never did and it never did. I never understood why people say when they got divorced their kids asked "was it my fault?" I always knew it wasn't my fault, it was obvious my parents hated each other. Know that they're still together I think they resent each other.

I would leave. I grew up with parents who stayed together but were not in love and I could tell. When they seperated, a weight was lifted off of me.

Have you considered counselling? Relationships always changE after a baby and I don't really know your situation, but it might be worth trying to save your marriage if you still love your husband.
