BFN 13dpo

My period is due in 3 days. (If normal). And tested with First Response EPT which is supposed to work up to 6days before missed period. It was a BFN :( im trying to remain hopeful and will test again in a few days, buuuuut just feeling super depressed today. I thought i had symptoms all week and was pretty convinced, ya know.. just had a feeling. Anyone out there test negative 13dpo and still get that BFP later on?
