Fertility Issues

My husband and I have Been married for 5 years . We have been trying to have a child for two years . ( neither one has previous kids ) . Ever since I have gotten off the depo ( over 3 years ago ) my period has been having a mind of its own . Some months without it even coming which makes it kinda hard to track my ovulation dates. Whenever my period does decide to come it's either really dark and a light flow or sometimes it's a lot of dark clots with a light flow. This month my period is really really really red and veryy heavy and it hasn't been like this in years . My husband and I really want a child and i am embarrassed that it is taking me so long to conceive . All my friends at my age (23) have had no issues with conceiving or period problems. My Dr. Says that weight could be a issue and the fact that my husband smokes a ton of weed but I don't know for sure .
