Is this seat good to go or do I need to buy another piece for it?

Yup this is a convertible car seat. Read the weight requirements below and itll tell you when baby can be in it safely, if baby is less than the requirements then you'll need to buy a infant car seat to fit in the meantime but most convertible seats fit from 4 lbs and up. This car seat is installed and cannot be carried with baby in it which some people are ok with but being an FTM I was too nervous taking a newborn in and out of the car especially because she was born in winter with lots of snow and ice so I liked the infant seat for that because you can take it out and carry it inside and it also clicks into the stroller. We bought the graco jogger travel system. We just bought a the graco convertible seat now that she's 7 months and will be installing that. When looking for a convertible seat I think the most important aspects to look for is get the one that rear faces the longest and also that has the heaviest weight limit. Mine rear faces until 40 lbs and goes all the way to a booster. Goodluck!

I love these cars eats. My son has a 3 in 1 car seat as well and he's about to be 4. These car seats are really cushioned and comfy.
