Do you/ would you give your 15 month old a whole banana to eat?

My husband gives our lo a whole banana & says its fine but im worried about her choking...

I break it off into two pieces, so it's not awkward. But he's good with taking "small bites". Sometimes we have to remind him!

Every morning my daughter eats a whole banana. She loves it and it's so great to be able to just hand her something with no prep.

I regularly give my 15 mo old 1/2 a banana whole. I don't give her any more cuz I think that's too big of a portion, not because of choking. Bananas are pretty mushy and I don't think she's going to learn about chewing and biting off pieces of things if i continue to cut everything in small pieces.

I dont cut up most of her foods now. I'm working on  her Independence. I made the mistake of doing it for my older daughter and i had to cut her food up untill she was like 5 or 6!

I worry about chocking if she bites it herself. I cut it up for her still. Bigger peices than before, but still cut lol. She does know when she's got too much of a bite sometimes, but other times she doesn't care and will try swolling a giant peice. She can eat an entire banana plus half of another one. That girl can eat!

She doesn't hold it because that would be a complete disaster, but she week bite it when I hold it or I will break off a quarter at a time.
