blankets with babies?

I read all these stories and post about babies dying from blankets in cribs or beds. My question is how old do they have to be to be safe to sleep with a blanket?

It's recommended to not have anything in the crib with baby prior to one year.

It's best to wait to a year. We've used sleep sacks for my son since he was an infant and he still sleeps in one at almost 2.

Ours hated swaddles with a passion, so he has the blanket under him then a light wrap belly button level. That way if he moves it'll fall to the side

My son is 7 months and has used a blanket since 2 weeks old in his crib. He never wanted to be swaddled so he used blankets.

That's really up to you. My daughter has had a blanket since she came home from the hospital
