Am I a horrible mama?? 😭

I'm 29 weeks pregnant, and although I LOVE my daughter, I'm finding it really hard to have that "connection" with her that I see/hear everyone else having with their babies.... will this get better? Will I have that bond when I meet her?

I didn't even feel it after birth. I was so exhausted from 30hrs of labor. I loved him, but didn't feel al gushy or anything. He's 5 now and we are so close. He still loves to cuddle in my lap and be "all warm and close" as he says. It just happened over time. Always loved him, but I'm even a super emotional, gushy kind of person so it bothered me for a while that I didn't feel that. It will come. And it's ok for it to take time. Breastfeeding really helped us I think.

I don't have a connection with mine yet and I'm 35 weeks tomorrow. Like, she legit has no name or prospect of a name because I cannot associate any name with this thing rolling around inside me. I have to see her before j can name her. People think I'm crazy (especially my husband) but it's true. I'm not worried for after she's born, connection wise, but right now, no I got nothing 🤷🏼‍♀️

I tried really hard to tell myself that I was bonding with my baby during pregnancy, but it all seemed surreal. I couldn't grasp that there was a real baby in there.. obviously I knew, it just seemed surreal, I was ecstatic when he was born and sooo in love with him.. but it wasn't until I actually got him home that we starting bonding.

I'm sure it's normal. Some woman find it hard to have a connection without them actually physically being here. Just wait til she's in your arms❤️❤️
