Birth Control Recomendations?

I've been starting to consider birth control to help regulate my flow, and because my boo and I are talking about getting more serious and having sex. I'm just curious as to what birth control methods you guys use. I've heard about the implant causing irregular periods and I've read that it's a nightmare and a half basically. I was considering the pill, but I heard you have to take it the same time everyday.
