Hey fellow beer/wine lovers. If you're anything like me, I absolutely love my beer and wine but I also exclusively feed my baby breastmilk so I have to be careful with how much I drink. Everyone always says that your milk is safe so long as you can drive. Well, I'm here to let everyone know that this is a dumb theory and also false. I celebrated my 30th birthday this weekend and had a few beers throughout the day. I felt completely normal ALL day and could've definitely driven if I chose to. However, I saved the milk I pumped just to be safe and fed him some from my frozen stock. I tested the milk from birthday today with milk alcohol test strips and sure enough. 2 out of the 3 bundles has alcohol. So please, be extra safe when drinking and breastfeeding and test your milk whenever you aren't 100% sure.
