How much milk does baby need?

My baby is 10 days old and she eats like a champ, I seem to be over producing milk though and have been having to pump once or twice a day for a few minutes to get the pressure off. Last night I pumped for a few minutes and ended up with almost 5 ounces. Should I still be freezing in 2oz increments? Is it normal to pump this much so early on?

Totally normal your body is just trying to figure itself out... your supply should regulate around 6 weeks.

Mother Nature gives us an oversupply in the beginning and it starts to regulate right away. Try not to pump. You can take a hot shower and let the spray hit your back and milk will flow without triggering your body to make more.

Freeze in 3oz, your supply will regulate in the next couple of months. You *probably* won't always over produce, I didn't. It's good to have milk saved. My son is 8 months and still will only take 3oz of milk at a time.
