HCG test on the same day as a BFP???

Question

I got my BFP this morning and I'm am SO excited. I called my doctor and they had me come in today to do an HCG test and then I go back in 48 hours to do another. Is that normal or could something be wrong? This is my very first pregnancy so I'm kind of worried.
