How long does teething last??

Question

I know every baby is different, but we have gone from sleeping through the night or waking up once to waking up 3-4 time a night the last few nights...  how long does this last for?  I know he is waking up because he is uncomfortable and it breaks my heart, but it's exhausting!

Sleeping schedule usually goes back to normal after the tooth breaks through. With my daughter, she started teething at 3 months but her first tooth didnt break through until 5 months. My son is almost 6 months old and he has been teething since 4 months but nothing has broken through yet but his sleeping is actually the opposite. He has been sleeping A LOT
