Early baby with no vernix?

Curious if anyone else had an early baby with no vernix? My son was born at 37.5 at 8lbs 12 oz and no vernix. The nurses wondered if I had my dates wrong but I was tracking. I felt he would be early my whole pregnancy and even at 37.3 was saying "he will come this week!". I'm pregnant with my 2nd and already felt baby since 10 weeks and look pretty far along(also felt baby very early with my 1st and was big, early). I was tracking my cycles this time too but I'm just wondering why my babies grow so fast and I seem further along. I didn't test positive until that day I missed my period so I don't think I had a false period my first month of pregnancy or anything. I was literally only pregnant 8 months from implantation to birth with my first! Any similar mamas?
