Do you have central air?

Question

We bought a two story house with no central air. We have window units but I am wondering what is bette to save money on electric? Wait until the sun goes down and cool off the upstairs or keep the air on low for a few hours of the day?

We just got central air installed at the beginning of this month. We don't have the right windows (the old crank kind) for a window unit, so we were dying with fans before that!! Haven't seen the electric bill yet!!

Must be a stupid question but what is central air? Some kind of air conditioning?

I live in Texas and have window units. Mine stay on because if I turn them off I might have a heat stroke it's so dang hot lol my electric bill runs about $160 a month

We have units mounted into the walls. I keep the downstairs AC on during the day and turn the bedroom unit on about an hour before bed to cool it down.

I just put on the the window unit in whatever room we are hanging out in.. and turn it off when we go to bed then put the units on in the bedroom.  My electric bill has been pretty low
