home birth stories?

FTM here, due August 18th. I would love to hear people's experiences with home birth as I get closer to my due date! I have Midwives, a fabulous Doula,  and attended a hypnobirthing class. I've been doing what I can to prepare and feel pretty good (despite the negativity from some family). Oh and my husband is incredibly supportive of home birth and of me and my ability to do this.

I just had my first born at home a few days ago!  When I was 38 + 6 weeks I was visiting with my sister in law and started having contractions. they were light and irregular.  I went home and my husband and I walked around and did things to get things going, but after 7 hours it stopped.  Then a few days later Saturday evening, when I was 39+3 weeks, my husband and I were at our home church.  At 7:30pm he came over and prayed for me and my baby.  As soon as he had finished I started contractions again.  I didn't tell him at first because we had all that false labor.  Later we went out to Cookout with friends and he noticed my face change with each one, so we went home.  We labored at home for a few hours and by 11 or midnight they were 4 minutes apart, lasting 1 minute each for 1 hour.  So we called the midwife to come over.  Up until that point, I would not describe contractions as painful at all.  I had to work very hard to relax, and it was intense, but no pain.  We continued to labor until about 5:30 am.  I started off in the bed, but as it got more intense I preferred leaning over exercise ball or sitting propped up on the floor.  There was some pain by this time, but it was manageable.    There was also every imaginable mess involved: puke, urine, poop... haha my poor husband was such a trooper. ♡  At 5:30am I started pushing.  I was told to resist pushing as much as I could to prevent tears.  
Pushing contractions were intense, but you get a rest between each one, so that was nice.  At 7:48am my baby girl was born, she shot out in one push: head, shoulders, body and all!!  The afterbirth took like 90 minutes.  Then I could finally get cleaned up and head to bed (I had given birth squatting on the floor).  I was achy, tired and woozy from 12+ hours of effort, but it was an amazing experience!!!  My sweet Kylie Emma was 7 lb 14 oz.  My husband did most of the work, with the midwife mostly observing and helping if needed. Which was what we wanted.  We were a great team!  He read me Scriptures all night long, and that is what helped me relax the most.  It  was amazing.♡♡♡

I am planning my first home birth in July. I have had two epidural/hospital births.

I am planning a home birth as well, due date April 19. My first child was 6 weeks early and c-section due to being breech. I just finally committed last week and found my midwife and I am beyond excited to (hopefully, if all goes well) birth this baby in the comfort of my own home. I feel so much more joy and excitement at the thought of being surrounded by so many loving caring attentive people. Praying mine and everyone else’s homebirths go according to plan

I've always wanted an at home  birth it never seemed right having so many doctors and doing it laying down would just be harder to many rules drugs and risks of being cut open
