Iud and sex??

I've read so many horror stories about how it's super painful to do anything sexual. Is it?

After a few weeks the strings kinda go into the folds of your vaginal wall so your partner shouldn't be able to feel them at all. I've had my IUD for 6 months now and the only time we had a problem was about 4 days after we tried and the strings poked him. So we waited a few weeks and tried again and it's been fine ever since. Once they kinda mold to your wall the only way you should be able to feel them is when you reach in there and actually feel for them off to the side. My GYN actually told me where they were during my re-check appt.

I've had my copper IUD for almost 9 years now and the same boyfriend since I got it out in. No problems at all. He has never felt it and there haven't been any problems as far as sex. Of anything, it's made it better because there is no guilt or worry about getting pregnant.

It isn't painful for me. My boyfriend can't feel the strings. I waited three weeks to have sex after it was inserted.
