WHEN CAN I HAVE RAW SEX?!

So, I just ended my period about four days ago and just put in my first  NuvaRing today when I got home from the doctor's. THEN I see online that I should've waited until my next period started? Can someone please tell me if I'll still be protected in 7 days? Or do I have to wait longer because I started mid cycle? I'm getting heaps of mixed answers. Thanks all!

What I was instructed to do was to insert the ring the first Sunday after my period ended, and it would take about a week for it to take effect

you always always ALWAYS have to double up on protection the first month of starting bc. and you are supposed to start bc the Sunday after your period starts. why didn't your ob tell you this??
