Alcohol?

Question

I'm three weeks postpartum and wondering about drinkinv alcohol along with pumping. What's the rule as far as beer and wine go? How many drinks can I have and safely pump on schedule? How long should I wait after drinking to pump/should I "pump and dump?" I'm not a huge drinker, but would like to be sure before I order my next adult beverage. Thank you!

I'm not sure of any "official" guidelines but have found a drink can really boost my supply sometimes. I pump right before I drink and then wait at least 3 hours but in the evenings I can usually go 4 hours and that's plenty of time for one drink (even a strong margarita, my favorite) to leave the system. I do know I've heard (but again, don't know how credible this is) that if you're not feeling any buzz that your milk should be fine. safe to drive, safe to milk 🙄

I drink one or two glasses of wine with food and have not worried about it. Ive been ep'ing 9.5 months. The only time i've pumped and dumped was when i drank a huge margarita that had about 4 ounces of tequila in it.

I believe normal breastfeeding is if you can drive you can breastfeed. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I drink a beer or two and then wait 4 hours.. pump before hand and the beer helps with milk production as well ...just wait the 4 hours for the alcohol to get out of your system and drink water
