Paraguard Experiences??

Question

So my sister is considering getting an IUD. I have one, which is the Mirena. But my sister is considering the Paraguard. I already told her how the insertion felt & my experience with cramping & all that jazz. But I wanted to know how it felt the first couple months. I know about the heavy periods & heavy cramping, but is there anything else anyone has experienced? & how the heavy periods & heavy cramping felt?

The cramping and heavy periods were pretty surprising, especially for me - I got used to the short, pain - free periods you get when you're on the pill - but it's manageable. It's like the periods you got before being on the pill - in high school. I'd recommend the hormone-free IUD. I hate putting hormones into my body. It affected my mood, my weight and a host of other things.

I have a Paragard iud and I haven't had any problems with mine. I havent really even had too much cramping and if I have then it hasn't been bad at all. I absolutely love mine
