Something's wrong

So I don't go on my period for another week, but I have had like spurts of blood or something, randomly every day for about a week. it isn't normal for me. It's very little and there is no pain or anything just little discharge every now and then. I am on birth control and I don't take it perfectly at the same time every day. I am not sure what is it and i'm thinking about asking my doctor about it but if anyone knows what is wrong please tell me...
