Best to give milk first then solids?

When I first started my son on solids at 4 months he was drinking his milk and eating his solids. But now he's almost 6 months and he won't drink his milk after he's ate. Is this okay? He isn't crying for more food or anything so he seems full. Or is milk still most important from 6months onwards? Is it best I start giving him milk first? FTM & obviously I'm worrying I want to make sure he's eating enough
