Anyone ever work for daycare center?

I'm about to send my 4 month old to daycare. I'm really worried that they are going to put him in a crib and let him cry all day. Their ratio is 4:1. I don't understand how one person can care for 4 infants. He is obviously going to be in his crib for most the day. I'm feeling really worried. How do they do it? What really happens during the day?

My daughter started daycare at 6 months. Our daycare has cameras so u can see your child at any time. My daughter was hardly ever in her crib and she loves it so much! They have lots of things for the kids to do if they aren't holding them and they aren't in their crib unless they are sleeping. The teachers are amazing and very loving and she reaches for them so you can tell she is loved! I also worked at a daycare before and everyone there treated the kids as their own.

Nope! I've worked in daycare. Infants of awake are only allowed to be in the crib up to 10mins. Just enough time for them to fall asleep. We had boppys and swings and bouncy seats. (No longer than 15 mins in each.) babies will see and experience so much. My favorite was the last baby to fall asleep in the morning, I would rock to sleep. It would rotate through the week but I loved it. My daughter is four months by I kind of miss working in the infant room.

He won't in his crib all day. they usually do lots of tummy time gor play and alternate between holding, swing, bouncer,  and possibly jumper depending on level of head control.

I've worked in the infant room of a couple different centers and the ratio in my state is 5:1. It's tough at times to have several babies on different schedules, but you learn to get into rhythm and make it work. Any decent center won't allow a baby to spend their day crying in the crib. They should be rotated around the room and cribs should be used for naps.
