Am I a lazy mom?

I really don't know if this is typical or not but I don't sit and play with my son all day. He's really good at playing by himself so I only play with him when he seems bored. Am I supposed to be playing with him all day?

I wouldn't say lazy. I'm a sahm mom as well and I don't entertain my son every minute of the day. Sometimes I feel like I should be stimulating him EVERY SECOND, but I know that's not reasonable. I think as long as there's an even amount of time between his playing alone and you playing with him it's fine.

I'm a SAHM also and my son has a lot of independent playtime with his toys while I do chores and then I play on the floor with him while we practice developmental stuff like standing or when we read books! I feel kinda bad sometimes when I let him play alone but if I sit with him he usually gets really whiny and just climbs me and squirms and gets cranky fast. So if he is happy playing alone I just get stuff done until he gets bored and needs a change of scenery!

God no!!! My son entertains himself a lot, I find he learns a lot more when hes left to his own devices to figure things out. He's never responded to coaxing in any way shape or form, but he's all for practicing things over and over on his own terms. Such as walking, he's been taking steps for a couple weeks now and he'll go in his room alone and have some practice sessions 😂

No!!! They need to be able to entertain themselves. I teach high school and trust me, their teachers will thank you

Definitely not lazy! We need time to do stuff too, right? My daughter plays by herself and when I come over she gets annoyed 😂 she crawls everywhere as our house is baby proofed and when I do dishes she comes over and just stands there or plays in the cabinets. At night we play for the last hour before bed time.

Not lazy at all, encouraging independence! My baby is Miss Independent. She loves story time and dinner time and snuggles before bed but when she's playing she likes to explore on her own. She likes to play with any kind of cause and effect toy and really think about it on her own. And to watch me while I cook or do laundry and things like that.
