Here's my birth story, finally!!

Alexis • Mama to a little boy & baby girl ❤️

May 10th, I was 39 weeks exactly and supposed to be induced, so I was told to come in at 9pm and wed get the process started! I got a call around 8:30 telling me the rooms were full and they would call me when I was able to come in. I was so scared of missing the call, I stayed up all night waiting for that call. But eventually around 3, I dozed off and woke up to a call at 3:15, OF COURSE!! So me and my fiancé grabbed our bags, called our moms, and off we went!

We got there around 4, and got lost and couldn't find the maternity ward and didn't get there until around 4:30. I was dilated to a 2. They got me into a room, and started an IV drip. Around 7am they checked me again, and I was at a 3, so they started some sort of drug to help me progress (not pitocin yet). I was stuck. I stayed at a 3 for hours. I had 100% excruciating back labor because my baby boys head was cocked to the side funny. So they offered an epidural. But I was PETRIFIED so I said no & was just crying through the contractions. Then they came in and offered me nubane through my IV. So I said yes and boy oh boy was that an amazing drug lol. I slept through hours of contractions and felt great (they said it's like a morphine type drug). Then they checked me again around probably midnight I'd say? It's been so long lol. I was at a 6. They broke my water & started the pitocin & I got my epidural and that was even more amazing. The epidural didn't hurt me at all like I'd thought and I felt so good. So I went back to sleep and around 8 I was at a 10 & it was time to start pushing!! MY FIANCÉ WOULDNT WAKE HIS ASS UP! We were telling him over and over it's time to push and he just kept nodding off!! His mom had to kick him to get him to wake up. But then I started to push & sweet baby Liam was here at 8:38am on May 12th, 9.3 pounds, 20 1/2 inches longs 💕

When they had pulled him out they'd thought they'd broken his shoulder or collar bone so they laid him on my chest for a few minutes at most and then took him away, brought him over to me to kiss him and then took him off to special care 😢 they took me over to see him for a few minutes and then took me to my room and kept him for 5 hours. I kept wondering why since they'd told me he was fine! Come to find out they'd thought he was a forceps baby from a scratch on his head from the contraction monitor! They didn't ask, just assumed! So I didn't get to do skin on skin until my baby was 6 hours old. But he's a happy and healthy 2 month old baby boy!! ❤️ sorry it's so long!
