Any tips for going into high school?

I just finished my first year of high school. High school to most people, if not all, is about change. You're gonna make a lot of new friends and maybe drift from some old ones, which is okay. Make sure to keep up your grades. a lot of people say "oh its the first year, it doesn't matter", but yeah it does. build a good foundation so you don't struggle with bringing up your grades for the next three years. Then again don't stress about every little thing. one bad grade is not the end of the world, just don't make it a habit :) You've got a lot of reasons to be excited! I mean, my first few weeks I was really quiet and didn't have friends, but then I started warming up to people and now i have the most amazing, trust-worthy people to hang out with.  Anyways, I hope your first year ends up well with some good memories in it :)

Try out of drama, stay on top of your work. Try to challenge yourself by taking AP classes one year. Get involved in school activities. Make it memorable.

Put your studies before everything! If you're involved and you're interested in really succeeding, you'll forget what a good night's sleep is like (I know, it sucks!). Also, try to join some extracurricular activities, maybe a sport, key club, speech and debate, etc. You'll meet a lot of different people (drama queens, stoners, etc.), and you'll make and lose friends every year, but it'll all be worth it when you've worked your tail off to be accepted into your dream college. Do your Work! Class work & homework ! You don't let anyone distract you not your friends or the cute boy in your class. We're teenagers so we're going to want to socialize and nothing's wrong with that but just make sure you put your work first. High school and middle school are completely, teachers aren't holding your hand and walking you through everything they expect you to be responsible for yourself which you should be. But like I said stay focused and work hard because if you do good your freshman and sophomore years then your last two years will be a breeze.I screwed up bad my first 2 years so now I have to work extremely hard to make sure I graduate with my class. It's normal to feel anxious for your first year. I know I was. I just finished my first year. Fortunately, I had a couple close friends going into the same school as I was. We hung out together the first few weeks but quickly made friends and began hanging out with them. One things you have to remember is that 99% of things change. You get make new friends, you lose old friends, you may start dating, you're surrounded by different crowds, the schoolwork is more of a challenge & there are many responsibilities. Some people say that the first couple of years don't matter when it comes to your grades, but I suggest getting into the habit of working hard in order to be in the habit of studying often for later on. My best friend & I dated a couple of guys our first year of high school, although I don't recommend it. Enjoy your first year, focus on your studies & have fun with your friends! You will meet guys in high school, but don't get sucked in by the sweet nothings they'll whisper into your ears. Get to know a guy and talk before starting a relationship. I know from experience that it can affect your grades... My first semester when I was dating my boyfriend I was getting 70's & low 80's, whereas my second semester when I was single, I was getting high 80's & even 90's! Just remember that when you & that guy break up, your friends are who will be there for you. Don't give them a reason to walk away by ignoring them and putting your boyfriend first. There will be other guys, but best friends are hard to find. Good luck & enjoy the experience!

Don't be scared of the upperclassmen. We don't actually bully freshmen. My freshmen year I had a group of upperclassmen friends who were the best. 
Always take your lunch.
The dress code literally doesn't exist.
If a guy smells like axe he probably was smoking in the bathroom
Befriend teachers. They are less likely to count you tardy if you are cool with them.
Try not to miss to much school. Missing 1 day is equivalent to a year's worth of teaching that's how it always feels! 
Your gpa this year can effect you getting into a good college! My brother almost didn't get into one because of his parents his freshmen year!
Make friends and keep the old you'll need them freshmen year is stressful! 
No one cares what you look like by may.

As an upperclassmen, here are so things that really piss me off,
when people stop in the middle of the freaking hallway and talk to their friends, hun just walk and talk
Slow walkers are the absolute worst, I'm a very fast walker so anyone who is really so just makes me mad
people who run to class, please don't do this you will get to class on time
That's all, have fun the social part of high school is great the academic part sucks especially if you take AP's
(Also dont be afraid to ask for help if you don't understand and if you take AP classes make sure you don't hate the class, my bff is taking AP chem and she hates chemistry)
