Pregnant women should not be outside during a lunar eclipse?

my mom just informed me that this Friday the 21st there will be a lunar eclipse. she said i should not go out or do anything or else my baby will have a cleft lip. i think it is a Mexican myth, have you heard of this? i am not a superstitious person, but this did get me thinking. what do you think.?

Your unborn child already has the genes that determine wether or not he/she will have a cleft lip.
Going outside will NOT change that, regardless of the status of the moon.

Yessss. I love Mexican myths. My grandma's cure to ward off any evil myth was a shot of tequila. "The full moon is coming, mija. Here's a shot of tequila." Or "Ay dios mio, there were three letters in the mail. Where's the tequila?" However I do not advise this since you are pregnant.

Lunar eclipse is Aug 7th.  and  I'd  tell ur mom to hush, especially after ur 20 week scan  that shows if they have a cleft lip

That's just an old wives tale. People used to not know anything about genes so they had to find an explanation that made sense at the time. Luckily we know better now. Feel free to enjoy the eclipse, lol.

I heard this when I was pregnant with my son and there was a full lunar eclipse/blood moon. I was driving and couldn't avoid seeing it. Plus I wanted to see it. My son has perfect little lips. Its a myth. This eclipse is a solar eclipse, not sure if the myth is for both eclipses or just the lunar eclipse.

That's definitely superstition as there is no way for an eclipse to cause a birth defect. Do what makes you comfortable though.

I really do not believe it either, but for her sake I will not be outside after dark.. but then again, I am pregnant, always nauseous, and always tired, so once i get home from work I lounge around in my PJs watching lifetime movies anyways.. lol and as a joke I told her i would wear aluminum foil hat and belt around my waist just in case the aliens decide to come.. (she did not think that was funny) but i will post pictures of that.. lol
