Beach (or any trip) with a 3-4 month old?

Question

Has anyone went on vacation with baby yet? (My friends baby is 4 days older than mine and they're at the beach right now. I'd love to do the same,  but Idk!

Who all has taken baby to the beach OR any other trip/vacation.

What was the hardest part about it? 
Was baby outside a lot? Was it hot? How did you protect baby from the heat?

I really would like to go do something as a family before summer is over,  I just don't know what to do or whats safe.  (Due to weather)

I live in Florida so I make beach trips often mostly for the sunsets but if I do go during the day I have an umbrella to keep him covered he loved getting his feet in the water... I used babyganics for sun and bug repellant we also just took a trip to disney world and the everglades he was great both times... really good happy baby... I just brought a portable fan cuz it's hot here and light clothing or just a diaper when at the beach we just stay under the umbrella.. my little man was 4 months on the 14th

We live in Illinois and went to Wisconsin at 2 months old on a boat all day (cloudy) and she was fine. And actually I n our way t Minnesota now where we will again be on a boat all day for a week. We've taken her to the zoo on a pretty warm day just put some sunscreen on her and a sunhat and she was fine I've also taken her swimming twice in a friends pool and she's also been fine there she's never gotten sick once and she'll be 4 months tomorrow. I feel it's important to take baby out as much as possible so they get used to it I always take her out to eat with me and to family parties and she's always so good she loves the change in environment!

we have done many trips longest 5 hours in the car. first plane ride coming next month. she loved the beach

We just took our 4 month old to the beach this past Sunday and he loved it! We put baby sunblock SPF 50 on him, put baby sunglasses on him and covered his head with a hat. The weather was perfect so he wasn't hot or cold. My bf carried him in a baby chest pack so he could see everything and once we were on the beach, we fed him and then he took a nap in his car seat, which we put on the sand between us facing the ocean. This upcoming weekend we are taking him to SD. I think it really depends on your baby though. Every baby is different. We can do stuff like that with our baby because he is very easy going and likes people watching. If your baby is also easy going, you should totally give it a try! It was fun!!

we took our baby on vacation when he was three months old. it was too hot to do much with him. dad stayed with the baby in the house while I played with big brother in the water. we did go putt putt golf one early morning before it got hot. the worst part was trying to get him to sleep at night... I had to put him down 3 times each night we were gone before he would stay down.

We took Luke to Folly Beach, S.C. when he was 2ish months old and it was okay.  We spent way more time inside and worked our days around him to make sure we didn't over do it with him.  Driving there and back was the hardest bc it takes so much longer with diaper, feeding, and car seat breaks.  We made it work, though!

We just got back from Lake Tahoe and we live in LA. We drive but we planned the stops around her schedule. I packed outfits for each day, extra onesies for each day and pajamas. Then I packed a receiving blanket for each day plus 3 towels and wash cloths. We were there a week and never used anything big like jumpers but took a lot of small toys to keep her occupied. Portable crib case in handy.
