So I am posting this because I feel like the majority of the things on here are horror stories regarding the IUD and how badly it is or how spotting never end. First I want to say that this is my experience and that everyones body is different. Secondly the IUD is NOT for everyone and it make take time to find the birth control method that is for you. So I have had my IUD now for 6 weeks (today was my check up). Insertion... painful but not horrible. Spotting lasted around 3 weeks and now comes and goes every couple of days but its not bad. Cramps are the same as spoting. IUD hasnt moved, fallen out or cause any pain. Infact its gone much better than I expected. Periods are light (kinda like when I was on the pill) and my partner has never felt the string or the IUD. I can use tampons normally and everything has been fine. No mood changes or weight gain. So long story short ladies, not everyone has a shit experience with the IUD. DONT BASE YOUR DECISION ON BIRTH CONTROL OFF OTHER PEOPLE. If I did I wouldnt have ever got the IUD because everything is always so negative. (especially if you are basing it off youtube videos) Anyways good luck finding your match 😀
