37 week check up. What should I expect today??

They haven't really checked down there yet to see if I'm dilated or anything so how does that usually go to see if I am dilated? am I going to be in pain when the check? 😬 will I be getting an ultrasound to check if she's had down already? Anyone wanna share?

I get an ultrasound every appt. But my doc said not to expect checks for dilation unless you are having contractions or are past 38 weeks. I haven't had any contractions though and I have heard it's very intrusive and slightly painful..., so I don't think I will want to get checked until I am in labor. Nothing much they can do anyway if I am 1 cm or so.

So I ended up having to do the GBS swab. Painless and she asked if I wanted her to check if I was dilated. I said sure, very uncomfortable lol and she did do an ultrasound to check babies positioning.

I got my first check at 36 weeks and they are checking every week. I find it painful but it doesn't last long

I feel like most doctors don't check until you are 38 weeks. Mine started at 36 because I've been having a lot of regular contractions off and on, so they wanted to check to make sure I wasn't in early labor or anything. A lot of people say it's painful, but I don't find it painful, just a little pressure and discomfort.

I got my first check at 36 weeks and I will be getting one every week now :/ they are slightly painful and Im not sure why they are done in the first place since it doesnt really matter if your dilating or not if your not in labor. You can be 3 cm for weeks or 0 on day and deliver the next just depends on the person :/

I asked my doctor and she said they don't check unless you have symptoms that would lead them to believe you might be in labor. I'm not too worried about it, as it really means nothing... you could be dialated and effaced for weeks.

i actually got checked when i was like... idk maybe 25 weeks or so... and it was akward. i was in more pain when they had to swab me because they had to open me up, but the fingers werent nearly as bad. just weird and lots of pressure.

Had my 37 week appointment on Tuesday and I still haven't been checked down there. lol I guess my doctor's office is just more relaxed about it? Maybe next weeks appointment.

I had my 36 week check up Monday and my doctor checked down there for the first time. She did so because when measuring she was able to tell I had dropped significantly. It was not a pleasant check, very intrusive, lol. 
No ultrasounds or anything of that nature, but hoping someone says to expect another one.
