Baby measuring big, possible c-section?

So I am 37 weeks as of today and I had a sono yesterday and baby girl is measuring 8.6-8.8 lbs already and my doctor said if I don't go into labor soon that I need to talk about having a c-section because of how small my frame is and he is worried about her shoulders becoming stuck/nerve damage if I were to deliver her vaginally. Im just so confused 😩 of course I want to do what is best for my baby, but there can be so many complications with both options😔 
Edit: I have had 3 measurements of her for weight and all were around 8.8

It's true that the estimates are usually off a pound or two, but personally I wouldn't take any extra risks if you don't have to. I work in the NICU, and just in the past week have seen babies born at 9.5lbs with shoulder dystocia. One of them actually fractured her clavicle 😔 not trying to scare you, just saying that these things do happen. And at least where I work, we do everything we can before resorting to a c-section, we don't just do them because we're lazy. Take in all the risks, but ultimately know it's still your decision.

I'm 36+5 and had an ultrasound today and baby is measuring 7lbs 14ozs. My dr only said a csection would be considered if I can't push him out on my own or I don't progress.

Go to google and type in evidence based birth. The website should pop up. There are a ton of great EVIDENCE BASED articles on there that could help you make a decision. Macrosomia can't be diagnosed before birth Bc the sonograms can be like 2lbs off. They were with my daughter. Also, true shoulder dystocia is super rare and cesarian doesn't improve outcomes. I looked into that specifically Bc my son had "sticky shoulders" when he was born and I wanted to know if induction was a good reason for suspected big baby. It's not. They tell women all the time that they are too small to deliver the baby their body grew.

Those sonograms can be WAY off 😬 I would be wary about your doctor pushing you too quickly towards an C-section.
