depo experience

hi there I'm new here and I have a question..I was on deposit for about 6 months after I had my son he's 8 months now I got off due to to may side affects..so my question is I had a period all moth of June up untill the 26th I stopped bleeding well I haven't had a period yet this month I took a pregnancy test 2 weeks ago was negative I wanna know how long it takes to get regular again and if I don't start by the first of Aug should I test again..I plan on calling my Dr but I have no clue when or what date I'm supposed to actually start..Thank u in advance
