Prodromal labor

From week 24 when I found out that baby girl would be ok when I got my genetic testing results back to week 30 everything was great. Baby was growing accordingly and I was feeling so energized. But one night I was having cramps that just wouldn't go away. I remember the last time I had cramps during the pregnancy I was 10 weeks and was having an early miscarriage. I freaked out a bit but decided to just lay down and hope it would go away....it didn't. I called the on call dr cause it was after hours and she said to drink water and if it doesn't go away to come in. I informed her that I have drank so much water that I couldn't drink anymore, she said ok that I should go into labor and delivery. I told my fiancé and he took me. We were there for about 7 hours cause the cramping feeling were actually contractions. They put me on iv fluids and they started to slow down so they came to the conclusion that I was just dehydrated. But I knew I wasn't dehydrated cause I've been drinking water all day! They put on the second bag of iv fluids hoping it would completely knock out the contractions but all it did was make it worst than when I first came in. So they came to the conclusion that I wasn't dehydrated so they kept me longer to see if the contractions would cause cervical change. After a while they checked my cervix and no change, I was closed. So they sent me home on bed rest due to possible premature labor. For the next week I was having constant contractions everyday. When I went into the dr she checked my cervix and still closed. The dr said I was having something called prodromal labor. So pretty much I was in labor cause the contractions were very real, not braxton hicks but nothing was progressing down there. She said as much as it hurts that's a good thing that was having no cervical change cause it was too early for baby to come out. I was sent back home on bed rest which sucked. Cause up till 33 weeks I was still having contractions. But at 33 weeks it caused me to have to go in to the hospital again where I got admitted for 6 days. Read next post for the hospital stay story.
