birth-control

I went to my 6 week post pardum check-up today && my Dr asked me about what type of birth control I wanted to try, because honestly condoms don't work I've been with my husband for 5 years and not once have we ever used them . Can't do the pill either because I know for a fact I will forget to take it everyday like your supposed to. I've heard good && bad things about the iud's but personally think that would be the best route for me to go but I need opinions on what has worked && what hasn't worked for everyone.
