USAF- Surviving Separation???

My husband is at MEPS right now for the Air Force. It was only for one night, but I'm crying and I have no idea what to do with myself. All I keep thinking about is how I'll feel being away from him for 3 months. I know what I got myself into when he talked about joining the Air Force before we got married. I'm not prepared for deployments and basic training will help us practice this time apart. I'm just wondering if there are any other couples or families out there that went through or are going through something similar..? We have no kids by the way, just a dog.

Me and my husband are dual military. We spent almost the first year of our marriage apart. Keep yourself busy, enjoy all the time y'all do have together, and it gets easier ☺️

This is me and my fiancé Michael, we've been together since high school "four years"  and I've been going through the same thing he will be leaving august 22 And my heart it's completely breaking  apart ! He is honestly my best friend ! I don't know if you believe in god or anything but all I keep doing is praying and crying and letting Michael know how I feel and it helps a lot ! I know it's hard but it will get better !

My husband is at MEPs right now too!!! And for the AirForce as well! How cool ☺️ it's tricky. I'm pregnant and so flipping emotional, but I think that what is getting me through is my confidence in him and his decisions. As well as knowing how confident he is about this decision to join. Military life is not the easiest, but just remember why you chose the AirForce! And know that AirForce is the bomb and by far the most family friendly military field. We got this!!! Stay strong girly. Sending prayers your way 💕💕💕

My hubby is in the Marine Corps and we're on our second enlistment. We've done 2 deployments, insane training work ups & he's away for 2.5 months right now at a school and it's hard and although you don't want to hear it, you get used to it. 
I miss the dickens out of him don't get me wrong but there comes a time when you realize it's his job. If he loves it then you'll support him and stay strong. Just keep yourself busy and try not to wallow in misery. Make friends and stick your neck out to do things with them. Our first year was HARD and I was so lonely and miserable and I've realized the best way to stay happy is to get out and get some human interaction. Do not coop yourself up. The military can be wonderful, hang in there and enjoy the crazy ride. 💕

I think a common misconception the general public has is that just because someone joins the military, they'll be deployed all the time. Honestly, this is not the case. Of course, it depends on your component and job but PLENTY of people have CAREERS in the military and have never deployed. Basic will probably suck - but more for him than you. From what I hear, it's only 6 weeks now though? So not too long and superrrr easy. Then, after tech school, you can live together again and it'll likely be like a regular job. Just take it one day at a time 😊

Oh! Also, my sisters husband is in the airforce, and they are the happiest couple I know. They have a beautiful three year old daughter and a boy on the way. They are 100% debt free and so completely set up FOR LIFE. ANNND they're only 23. My sister hasn't regretted their decision to join once. The deployment is hard and I'm terrified of that time to come, but it's only a short amount of forever with your man ☺️ in the hard times try to think of the big picture though it may suck royal behind!! I'm saying this all now even though I know that I'm going to be a wreck come his deployment and BT haha, but we got this. ☺️ military wives are bad ass.
