Piecing problems

Ladies. So I got this piercing. I had my two bottom piercings with earring on the bottom but it got like this? I've had it for a week and the swollen has gone away, but it's so dry! I clean it twice a day (once in the morning the other at night) I had my Cartledge on my other ear and the same thing happened but after a while it went away (I still ended up taking it off) but how do I get it to not be so dry? Has any of this happened to you guys before?
