Help! Early Labour advice

Hi all,

I'm already a week over due .

Yesterday I lost my mucus plug. Around 8pm contractions started. Grew in frequency but not in intensity or length.

Around 5 am was about 5 mins apart , called midwife told me to sleep for a bit and check back with her in a few hours.

Today contractions seems to be everywhere and seem to have stopped now or are so mild I don't feel it. I feel belly tightening but not contractions.

Has anyone experienced this? Has my labour stalled or was I not in true labour?

Ive lost my mucus plug so when will labour truly begin

Ive walked, bath, shower, slept, bounced in ball, walked up and down stairs.

I'm feeling a little discouraged.
