North Korea?

Is anyone actually taking them seriously? I think they are advancing very quickly, it's getting scary. We have a lunatic running North Korea with weapons and another lunatic running the US with weapons, why isn't anyone trying to atleast negotiate? I feel like Trump just wants to keep mocking Un and playing games. I think NK is a real life threat and it's honestly scary. Any thoughts? all opinions are appreciated!!! I'm not an expert I know that 😂

It was Trumps idea to actually try to meet with Kim Jong Un in an attempt to resolve the animosity and make peace, but the presidents advisors are urging him that that's really not a good idea! But, they say that if it came down to a possible nuclear attack, or world war 3, they would certainly not be opposed to it then. They'd rather atleast try if things got out of hand. But it is estimated that by early 2018, North Korea would have created a missile capable of reaching the US. So, action really is needed, I'm afraid. And yes, I'm taking it quite seriously, and I think everyone should. Kim Jong has tested 12 missiles from the start of this year and that's more than his Father and Grandfather combined. As soon as they develop the perfect missile, he's gonna try to nuke us unless someone puts a stop to it. The US military has the capabilities to shoot a potential deadly missile down before it reaches us,  but there's still a possibility that it could still reach us. He's getting close to being able to make good on his threats to, "anihalate," the US. Action really is needed.

it's concerning, but at the same time the US probably deserves getting nuked out of existence if this whole circus act keeps up.

Well you do know that trump isn't the only leader who can do something about NK, right? There's also France, Germany, England, and a bunch of other countries. America can't do anything that isn't in line with the UN rules. You can't just jump in and go "hey let's negotiate." There's steps you have to take before hand. Also, trump wouldn't be the one handling any of that. Military experts would be.

I'm not really scared at all or taking it seriously. Maybe I'm naive but I'm just not going to think about it because I don't think it's that big of a deal. I think he just wants to scare people.

NK has been a bad actor for a long time. In fact, when Bill Clinton was president, he sent former president Jimmy Carter to NK to try and negotiate, and Carter made a (bad) deal that has in part led to Nk's nuclear advancement today. While I do think it is a serious threat, at the end of the day I think NK knows they would be owned in war, and while their leader is crazy, I don't think he's suicidal.   And to you all blaming trump blindly, understand the long and complicated history here. This situation did not escalate because of trump. As I mentioned, Clinton and Carter had a lot to do with it, as did Obama I ignoring dozens of nuclear tests and letting it get to this level in the first place.
