Why do people bully/make fun of people for not knowing something?

I've seen this happen in everyday life and on the internet, including Glow. If someone asks a question because they don't know...some people are just rude and sarcastic. I'm not talking about the "Am I pregnant?" Or "Can I get pregnant?" posts. I just saw a women get attacked on here for not knowing something.

I'm not talking about honesty. I'm talking about being simply rude and sarcastic. I believe there's a difference between being honest and straight up rude.

I think it's assumed laziness or stupidity when a person can make it so far in life without knowing basic information. I guess it's comes off as making a choice to be uninformed, which can be annoying for some. It depends on the question too. For instance, if you've had doctors appointments, and have read only just a paragraph of a pregnancy book you should know how to calculate how many months along you are by simply dividing the weeks by 4. Someone asked that and it got really frustrating when people were providing incorrect charts instead of doing the simple math that's used universally. But, it's still no excuse to be rude, unless  the person who asked is rude when they get an answer. And agreed, some groups seem to be a haven for really rude, over opinionated, bitter people and that's on them and not one else. Just use the opportunity to mute and move on ❤

I've seen it before too. I don't know how some people can be so rude. If someone really doesn't know something, why belittle them or make them feel dumb for asking? You're not born knowing everything, so if you don't ask, how will you know?

Mostly all the people you say are rude on here, are just actually being honest. They could word it better to make it come off nicer, but some things you can't sugar coat

We live in a sad world, where people have no manners and hide behind an "I'm just honest" attitude. There's really no need to be rude to anybody, but some people let their emotions lead their lives without considering that they're talking to a person whose story they know nothing about. It's very sad. No one seems to know the golden rule anymore.
