My boyfriend is great...but...

I've been dating him for four months, and I told him yesterday, "Tomorrow is National Girlfriends Day." He replied with "cool beans." Like what?! He always says that and it seems like he isn't interested in talking to me. Then I asked him when he was free and he said "any day but Thursday," which means any day but Thursday. You'd think. Cause then I asked him "Can we hang tomorrow?" And he said "What about Wednesday? I'm a busy guy." But two seconds ago, he just told me he was free almost any day.

Not to mention, he hardly ever compliments me, it's always when we're alone, which is part of his shy and reserved nature, but he hardly tells me I'm pretty, and I tell him how hot I think he is all the time, which he brushes off and tells me I'm lying to make him feel good, which is totally not true. And it's not that I'm high maintenance and I always want to be told how good I look, but it doesn't hurt. The only people who call me pretty are my friends and that's it. And he never gives any other compliment, like how much he loves me, my intelligence, etc.. I just want him to say something romantic.

And last but not least, he is the biggest offender of falling asleep mid-conversation without even saying goodnight, we've all done it, but he misses it almost every night. Am I being paranoid about him? It's fine if I am, I just had a girls night in which my friend gushed about how perfect her boyfriend is (and he really is) and now I want that but I'm not sure if I should confront him. Thoughts?
