LGBTQ+ and misunderstanding

I'm going to start this by saying that I am not homophobic or anything, I believe everybody should be treated equally. But this is just what my friend said to me, I am just quoting what she said. I don't remember the exact words so I'll just type the main thing she was talking about, she said that when people of the LGBTQ community say stuff generalizing straight people it's fine but when straight people they are called homophobic. What do you guys think?
