When should I get my first ultrasound?

My doctor gave me a referral yesterday for an ultrasound and all it says is before 14 weeks...when I asked the nurse she said anytime before then but was really vague. I'm 8 weeks tomorrow and I don't want to go too early.
I see the doctor again when I am 12 weeks so I assume they'd want it before then?

I had mine at 8 weeks and we were able to see everything perfectly. I would make an appointment now because I remember booking mine and it took weeks to get in.

Just go...... they need to date you anyways. I was 9 weeks from LMP but ultrasound shows I'm only 7 weeks 4 days.

I would think just before your next appointment. so it will still be relevant when the doctor sees it. 
I didn't get mine until almost 15 weeks and it was still fine.

My first won't be until 10w 3d but that means I'll get to see our baby more developed than I would if I went in at 7 or 8 weeks
