dating as a single mom

My LO is 7 months old and his dad and I split when he was around 3 months. Is that too soon   To start dating again? And how do you even date when you have a baby? Serious question. I work full time and I'm obviously with my son when I'm not working.. I don't want him around whom ever I do date until it's actually a solid relationship. But I also don't want to be single for the rest of my life lol
