Your boyfriend is friends with another female. A female you have a bad gut feeling about, but you don't really know her. They use Snapchat as their primary form of texting. You trust him but still have a bad feeling about her. She knows you are his girlfriend, and she knows you don't really like her. One night, he's out with friends and she's there, and she texts him and says "you should come home with me." He says no. She replies "why can't you?...you can. You're coming home with me" and he still tells her no. Do you feel okay with your boyfriend continuing that friendship? Or do you think it should be cut off? If he doesn't want to end the friendship still, what do you do?

Here's the thing; you cannot control the actions of others, only your own. You should express to him that this makes you uncomfortable and why. You should make it clear that this is not ok with you. You should NOT tell him he cannot speak to her or see her anymore. You aren't his mother and he's (I assume) an adult. You can't tell people what to do. I don't tell my husband who to be friends with. You cannot control others.

However, you can control yourself and you are responsible for you own actions. If he chooses to see her anyway despite your feelings, then you have the ability to make a decision and control your response to that situation. You can either choose to stay knowing he will not respect your issues on this, or you can choose to go.

It's really that simple. We cannot control others, but we can control how we react to others and their choices.

I love this community. Thank you all for your input. As an update, I talked with him about the whole situation and had him look at it from my point of view. If the tables were turned, how would he feel? He agreed that ending that friendship was something he understood, and he told her they couldn't talk or be friends anymore.

That same this happend to me like 7 years back and he bcme so fond of her that he would only listen to her and do things for her and I got fed up and broke up with him... after 3 years of realizing what a bitch she was (they dint date but were together all the time) he came back to me and after making him wait for a year I went back to him and now we are happily married and we talk and even laugh about those days... that incident made him even more close to me and made him appreciate me... and mind you... we are best friends since the age of 8... and now we are 27 ... anything can happen in this world but I feel that incident was imp for him to realize how much loved and cared for me not only as a friend but much more... so ya i would say be careful there are alt of bitches in this world who try to act innocent and sweet and try gaining attention of guys... I was lucky he realised what a bitch she was... not all guys do...

go with your gut. And you asked what I would do here it is but my relationship and things might be different than yours. I would first tell him "I'm not saying I don't want you talking to her. But I don't want you using Snapchat to do it". he doesn't need to delete stuff if he has nothing to hide and Snapchat deletes stuff. If he wasn't respectful about it I would want to know why he has to problems continuing to do this. does he like the attention? does he have mutual feelings but doesn't know who he wants yet? I would keep calm and just take the time to understand. I would also evaluate how I found out that she asked him to come home with her. If he told me himself that shows he trust me...but is he trying to make me jealous? if I found this out because I went through his stuff or by accident (even if he said no) that would be a deal breaker for me. And he needs to make his friendship with her clear to her. Or I'd leave.
