Clogged milk glands

After I gave birth to my first child, my milk glands got clogged, my armpits swelled to the size of a baseball to where I couldn't even hold my newborn. I'm pregnant again with my second, and in already feeling a bump in my armpit. Has anyone else had this issue? If so how did you fix it? Surgery? I have an appointment with my doctor and plan on discussing this, I'm just worried. I want to breastfeed my child longer than the (3months) I was able to with my first.
