Boyfriend plays Pokémon go

My soon to be 22 year old bf of almost 2 years is OBSESSED with the app Pokémon go. He has been playing Pokémon since he was a little kid. He wakes up super early to play the game and is gone for hours. He has 2 jobs but the other day we were supposed to go out to a surprise dinner for his father and he was late to pick me up because he forgot about the dinner and he was too busy playing Pokémon. I was very upset that he did this and I ended up not going with him. We had a big argument which lead to him blaming me for signing us up to go to the surprise dinner. I have been pretty understanding that likes the game, but this is just getting out of hand. I tell him he needs to grow up because it's affecting his work and family life. he chooses to play this and then blames me he isn't getting stuff done because I want to spend time with him. I like spending time with him on my days off or after work. Not before. I also play Pokémon go sometimes too. He gets very upset and says I don't love him for who he is. I really don't know what to do anymore. It's gotten so out of hand that we never go out anymore and if and when we do he's always on his phone. It hasn't been the same anymore and maybe it's because we spend too much time together. Just really need some good advice, please be kind. Thanks my glow girls xox
